The Real Online Business is....
Q. DXXd my question is My rent was just raised and now I need to make more money. On MSN.com I found many people offering programs where I can make $500 per day online. Many of these programs cost over $1,000 and I can not afford that right now. How can I make about $500 a day online? -Pvvv
A. Pvvv, good question. If you are like most trying to make money on-line, you may feel frustrated, mad and even wonder why it seems "everyone" is making money on-line, except you! What people say about making money online CAN be true and CAN be false.
Here is what I mean. The people showing the checks with the big numbers on them do NOT always share the "real" skinny. What?
Yes. Consider how much they spent on advertising to get people to pay for their product/service.
Lets say, the on-line, money making "guru" shows you a check for $2,500 from a months worth of online work...this is fine, but one should ask, OK, how much did this "guru" spend to get this $2,500?
Lets say they are selling a how to product and the price is $49.95
They put ads on Google and in blogs. OK, now the real question to ask this money-making "guru"...
Is the $2,500 gross or net (this is a HUGE difference)!
Lets say they are paying the joint venture (a group of affiliates) to promote their product, after they pay them their fees (standard is 50% per sale or more), Etc., Etc. ... The actual income they earned (take home) is now a different story.
Pvvv, my suggestion is to not get all caught up in the "glammer" of the web sites where they flash pictures of themselves holding big wads of cash, driving fancy cars and diving off of a yaht - - the reality is MOST of these people are getting "rich" from people buying their program, that is nothing more than a lengthy sales letter to get you to buy another product and in the end you will come out with less money in your pocket.
Pvvv, consider the $5.00 per day system.
This is simply where you do not try and set a goal for $500 per day on-line...this is not a bad goal, but unless you get "lucky" this is not reality...save your time.
Make a goal to yourself to make $5.00 per day on-line.
I know, I know I hear someone reading this saying, "ahh, $5.00 per day. I am not going to work hard for just five dollars a day."
Well this is your choice...tell you what, you continue spending your time and money so your ego feels good and for those who "get it" (what we are teaching here) CAN leverage a large piece of the on-line money making pie.
Setting your goal to "ONLY" making $5.00 per day means you are bring home an extra $150.00 per month. Ah, yes now it starts to look different.
If you set this as your goal for two to three months consistently, then in two to three months you set the goal for $7.00 per day for two through three months and so forth...you can see the pattern forming here.
Once you learn to make FIVE DOLLARS per day online, it will become an innate science within you and within 12 months you too can be on your way to making larger and more frequent sales on-line.

Uniqueness Is Everything

Today, when I had a conversation with one of my customers, he told me that his industry is E-book related. He has more than 275 e-books to sell.
When I heard the word... "E-book", I was like WHAT are you talking about?
You see...
In the awaken of the web 2.0, the way we CONNECT with other people has changed. People know MORE about great product and bad product. This is WHY we have reviews all over the place.
This is WHY great products get spread so easily, while bad products get tossed right away.
At the same time, it is also true that people are SHOPPING for bargains online. It means that IF you are selling an e-book for $19.95, while your competitors are selling it for $1.99, there is NO reason they will buy from you.
What I am trying to say in here is...
"UNIQUNESS".
Uniqueness is everything. When you are selling private label rights or resale right products, you do NOT have your own identity. In fact, most of the e-books are full of crappy information. The worse part is....
"The Product Represents YOU"
It means that whether you are selling a good product or a bad product, people will see YOU as the person they buy the product from. When this happens, most likely it happens anyway, there are "THREE" bad conceptions about your business:
(A) You are a seller of crappy products.
It means that people will start telling others NOT
to buy from you. PERIOD. They just ignore you. They
just don't want to deal with your business.
You lose sales. You lose business. You run out of
cash flow. At the end, you're going out of business.
That's it!
(B) Your competitors will kill your pricing.
When your products offerred to the public, you can
price it at $67 or higher. However, as soon as it
enter the market, your competitors will start coming
out with the SAME exact product.
Since he knows that he is NEW in the market place,
he slashes the price to $47. What happen to your
business, you lose sales.
(C) You're going to explode, not your business.
Selling e-book for cheap is REALLY not a solution
at all. Why? Well, a lot of time, I have seen many
people sell e-books with fire sale type and try to
make an extra $5,000.
As soon as they are done, they will go ahead and
create another fire sale to make an extra $5,000.
What happen is... Even though the business is NOT
exploding, you are going to explode.
You are going to THINK why do I work so hard,
just to make an extra $5,000 every two month, while
I would be better off just to work for others.
At the end, they will BLAME things on market saturation, economy, competitors, and much more.
How do we change this pattern?
What should we do to make sure my competitors do not kill my business?
(1) Uniqueness.
If you can be copied, your business is NOT unique.
If people start questioning the difference between
you and this marketer, you are NOT unique.
You see... People NEED to know that when they talk
about you, they are like... "WOW, if you do NOT
this guy, you are an idiot". This is WHAT you need
to hear from others about you. PERIOD!
(2) Great Products.
This is obvious, isn't it?
I have seen many people who are just trying to come
up with something in order to make money online.
This is totally INSANE. You can NOT treat your
business that way.
When you do this, you are burning all the bridges
you have built within your industry. Seriously, it
doesn't matter how great your copywriting is, people
are SMARTER than that.
They can see the difference whether you are JUST
faking it or you really know what you are talking
about. So, FOCUS on great products. This is not
just necessary, it is a MUST in business.
(3) Relationship Building.
With the death of web 1.0, if you do NOT have the
relationship with your subscribes, they do NOT
trust you. Think about this, ok?
When I struck-up a conversation with a marketer, he
told me that people should have known my expertise
already. I said... "I have no clue". He looked at
me with a strange eyes.

you have already known about business. It is MORE

How Can I Get Rich?
People often ask me ...
"How can I get rich?"
Well ... let me tell you how I did it.
1) I learned very early in life that the ONLY way to make money was to "sell" something ... either a product or a service ... something people wanted or needed - or - do something for them they couldn't, or wouldn't, do for themselves.
2) I learned to "make do" with what I had, until I could get what I needed to do a better job.
3) I learned that I had to do anything necessary (but legal) to get to where I wanted to be, even if I didn't like doing it (especially if I didn't like doing it). -- You can do ANYTHING you need to do ... until you can do what you want to do.
4) I learned to never ask anyone to do anything for me that I wasn't willing to do myself - and - everyone who has ever worked with me has taught me about what they have done for me and how they did it. After a while, I could do it, too - but - maybe not as well as they did.
5) I learned to "pay" for what I wanted. If I couldn't afford it, I saved-up to be able to afford it. (Sometimes if seemed like forever.)
6) I learned that no matter how long it took to achieve my goal (whatever it was), it would have been just as long if I hadn't persisted, but I would have accomplished nothing.
7) I learned that NOTHING is as easy or as fast as it should be. It only gets easier and faster when you know how to really do it - and - learning how to really do it is just a matter of doing it over, and over, and over, until you finally find out how it works. 10) I learned that "money" is NOT an end unto itself ... it is only a way of keeping score. (The saddest people in the world are those who are forever chasing the almighty dollar - and - the vast majority of them have no real respect for money.)
11) I learned to ASK for what I wanted or needed - and - to graciously accept a "NO" as readily as a "YES."
YES ... you can get rich - but - you'll have to do it yourself.
No one will do it for you!
I get tickled by people who want to start at the top of the ladder. -- For some unknown reason, they honestly believe they are better than I am, since I had to start on the bottom rung and climb up one rung at a time.

Sorry, you'll have to start where I started. -- Do what you need to do to make a little money. Then, do more and more of it to make more and more money. Search Engines and Directories
Dear Isyaias,
Getting your site listed in search engines and directories is an important part of building a successful site. Most people tend to think of search directories and engines as one in the same.
However, they are actually both quite different. The only similarity between the two, in fact, is that they both serve the same purpose: to help people find web sites of interest to them.
In this newsletter, we will talk about the various search engines and directories, what their differences are, and why each is essential to delivering traffic to your site.
Search Engines:
By far the most popular search engine around is Google. Other search engines include Inktomi, AltaVista, AlltheWeb, and MSN.
Directories:
Probably the most popular example of a directory is Yahoo. Other directories include Open Directory Project (dmoz.org) and Gimpsy.
The Differences between Search Engines and Directories
Difference #1: Search engines are run by robots; directories are run by human editors
The most notable difference between search engines and directories is that search engines aren't updated by human editors like directories are. Instead, search engines are updated bi-monthly or monthly by robots--spiders and crawlers.
What are spiders and crawlers? They are programs written by programmers at a particular search engine that basically locate a page, browse it, and then report whatever it finds back to the search engine's database. What is found is then listed on the search engine.
Directories, on the other hand, are completely updated by human editors. What usually happens is that a person submits their site to the directory and then the editor will visit the site and see whether or not it is worthy of being listed in the directory. If it is, it will be grouped with other relevant sites in the directory. If not, it won't be listed at all.
Directories are typically harder to get listed in than search engines are for this reason. Human editors won't allow in unworthy sites; search engine bots will. Directories are usually updated very frequently by the editors.

Many directories charge money for each submission. Search engines never charge a dime because their bots are solely responsible for listing web sites. There are, however, free directories which you can submit your site to.

Those who use directories have to go through the hassle of going through categories and sub-categories. This takes time and patience, both things that many busy people just don't have.

When someone visits a directory, all they have to do is choose a category that interests them. Then, all the sites are relevant to that category will come up on the page. There's nothing worse than doing a search for cars and having an unrelated listing for cats come up. Unfortunately, this is occasionally the case with search engines because they are updated by robots, not humans.

Focus On Building A List
I know you're anxious to get started, so let's get right into it...
This is what you need to do:
1. Pick a profitable niche
2. Build a list of prospects
3. Sell stuff...

- How do you know if a niche will be profitable?
- How do you build a list?
- What should you sell?
I'm going to cover all that in the next few issues.
What I want you to understand and carve permanently into your brain is that THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST.
Everything you do from this point on will focus on building a list, earning their trust, and promoting quality products and services that your readers really need.
Now you might be asking, "Why can't I just send traffic to the merchant's website and let them do the selling?"
That's a legitimate question. But consider this...
If you spend time and money to drive traffic to a merchant's website, fewer than 5% will buy. So what happens to the 95% who don't buy?
If you're not capturing email addresses, you're throwing money right down the drain.
But if you get people to join your list first, you can sell multiple products to the same prospects and maximize your advertising efforts.
The long term profit potential of your business relies on repeat sales from the same customers.
Can you see why it's so important to capture leads?
Why continue spending money on ads, sending people to the same page and hoping for a sale, when you can get them on your list first and have more control over the conversion process?
You've got to expose people to your message multiple times to maximize your chances of making a sale.

If you run a site and are looking to get it listed quickly on search engines, there really is no easier and quicker way than to also put a blog on the site. It is a known fact that search engine spiders from sites like Google and Altavista list new blogs much faster than they list new sites. However, it's not as simple as just creating a blog and letting it sit there. You have to also use tactics like pinging, linking and the use of keywords. What is pinging?
It's a question that many ask, so don't feel silly if you don't know what pinging is. Pinging is essentially a tracking program installed on your blog that will notify the site which it is from whenever your blog is updated. Search engine spiders usually visit newly pinged sites most often, which is why pinging is such a crucial part of the equation to get your site listed quickly. Sites that are newly "pinged" will be visited by search engine spiders. A visit from the spider equals a listing on the search engine.
How do I get pinging on my blog?
You'll have to register with a site that offers weblog pinging.
The most popular pinging program around is weblogs.com. Other programs offered include Yahoo's Blo.gs, BlogRolling, and Technorati. Once you've decided on a pinging service, you'll have to follow the instructions to install it on your blog. When you've done that, your blog will start getting pinged and visited by search engine spiders.
What is linking?
Linking is basically having another blog or site link to your blog. When search engine spiders visit that site and see a link to your site, they'll visit your site. Linking is effective both for sites with blogs and those without it.
How do I get linking?
You get it by visiting sites/blogs that are relevant to what your site is about. Then you contact the owners of those sites/blogs, asking them to post a link to your site on their site. In return, you will probably have to link to their site on your site. That way, both of you are able to benefit from the linking.
Why is the use of keywords important to my blog?
Spiders love to visit sites with a good amount of keywords.
People who read your site won't mind the use of keywords if they are lightly spread throughout the content of your pages. The key to this is to make a list of keywords relevant to your blog posting and then to try to use those keywords throughout your content. It is important to make sure, however, not to overuse keywords. Spiders have been trained to ignore sites with excessive amounts of keywords, so if you use a whole lot of keywords in the hopes of getting spiders to visit your site, it's not going to do you any good. Generally speaking, using between 2-6 keywords per 200 word piece of content is a good ratio. It's pleasing to both readers and search engine spiders.
That's really all there is to it. Apply the above techniques to your blog and you will net your site a quick search engine listing.

Ezine Promo

Today I want to talk about ezine ads.
This is probably one of the most misunderstood forms of advertising that there are simply because of the misconceptions about ezine advertising. So I will try to clear some of them up.
For starters, ezine ads are not worthless as most people seem to think. Believe it or not, there are people who subscribe to these ezines who actually do read them for their content and THAT is the key to placing a solo ezine ad that actually brings result. You have to educate the prospect in the ad, as if it were an actual ezine issue, before you can make your pitch.
There is a perfect way to do this and I am surprised that most people don't figure it out or even try it if they do.
Many ezine owners are crying for content. They either don't have the time to create it themselves or the skill. This is where you, as a writer, come in.
The steps are simple.
1. Look up an ezine in the ezine directories online that matches your niche. Try to find one with a decent membership base. This is still a numbers game so if you're product converts at 2% or better, you should do fairly well as long as the ezine fits your niche and has a decent size membership.
2. Write to the ezine owner and offer to do a series of articles in exchange for a solo ad. Trust me, many will take you up on your offer.
3. Incorporate your "ad" into the last article in the series. This way it doesn't appear as a flat out sales pitch. You will be surprised at how many prospects will be responsive to this approach.
What this does is it gets you a solo ezine ad at no cost to you, plus it makes it more effective than if you just paid for an ad with no lead in. Think about it...with a series of articles...these people have gotten to know you already.
